iPad mini 8 (2026) cases

iPad mini 8 cases: protection for your iPad mini 2026

Apple calls the iPad mini 8 the biggest update ever for the iPad mini. You can order the new iPad mini from October 28, 2026. It arrives in stores from November 6. The new device is thinner, lighter and stronger than ever. That's why you want a case that fits just as well. Here's what's new on the iPad mini 8:

• Larger OLED display: an 8.5 inch Super Retina XDR display with deeper blacks and up to 1200 nits peak brightness. Also available with nano-texture glass to reduce glare.
• A20 Pro chip: up to 4.5x faster AI performance and up to 2.7x faster graphics than the iPad mini 7.
• Ultra-thin design: the iPad mini 8 is only 5.4 mm thin.
• IP67 water and dust resistance: handy in the rain or by the pool.
• 12 MP Center Stage camera: the front camera now sits on the long edge. Ideal for FaceTime and video calls when you use your iPad in landscape.
• Acoustic Display: fuller sound with more bass and clear highs.
• Faster connectivity: Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 6 thanks to the N1 chip.
• iPadOS 27: with the latest version of Apple Intelligence. Siri AI is not yet available in the EU.

You choose the iPad mini 8 in midnight or starlight, with 128 GB, 256 GB or 512 GB of storage. It works with Apple Pencil Pro and Apple Pencil (USB-C).

Does an iPad mini 7 case fit the iPad mini 8?

The screen is larger, but the iPad mini 8 is just as long and wide as the iPad mini 7. That's thanks to 24 percent thinner bezels. Still, the device is noticeably thinner: 5.4 mm compared to 6.3 mm for the iPad mini 7. That's why an iPad mini 7 case often sits looser and doesn't fit snugly. The front camera has also moved to a different spot. Choose a case made specifically for the iPad mini 8 (2026). That way, you know for sure the buttons, camera and Apple Pencil stay easy to reach.

Cases for every way you use it

The iPad mini 8 is small, light and powerful. You read on it on the go, work on it on the train or draw with your Apple Pencil Pro on the couch. A good case protects your iPad mini during all those moments. Choose a book case with a front cover that folds into a stand. You watch movies or make video calls hands-free.

Want to show off the color of your iPad mini? Choose a case with a transparent back. A light shade pairs nicely with a starlight iPad mini. A dark case matches midnight well.
